Privacy Policy
Effective 4 October 2026.
Overview
Theremin is a musical instrument you play by moving your hand in front of your device's camera. It works entirely on your device.
The App does not collect, store, or share any personal information.
The Camera
Theremin uses the front camera to see where your hand is. That is the only thing the camera is used for.
- Each frame from the camera is analysed on your device, using Apple's built-in hand tracking, to find your fingertip. The frame is then discarded.
- Nothing is recorded. No photos, video or audio are saved, by the App or anywhere else.
- Nothing leaves your device. The camera picture is never uploaded, sent or shared.
The App asks for camera permission the first time it opens. You can turn it off at any time in Settings ▸ Privacy & Security ▸ Camera. Without it, the App cannot see your hand, but nothing else changes.
Information Collection
The App does not collect any data of any kind.
Specifically, the App does not collect:
- Personal information (such as name, email address, or contact details)
- Photos, video or audio
- Device information or identifiers
- Usage data or analytics
- Location data
The App does not communicate with any servers.
Data Storage
The App remembers your settings, such as the instrument, the key and the volume for each hand, so they are still there next time. These settings are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the App.
Third-Party Services
The App does not use any third-party services, including:
- Analytics providers
- Advertising networks
- Crash reporting tools
- External APIs
Data Sharing
No data is collected; therefore, no data is shared.
Children’s Privacy
The App is suitable for users of all ages, including children.
No personal information is collected from any users.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
